We stayed at the Park Hyatt ans part of our wedding anniversary celebration. We had a lake view room which was beautiful in both the daytime (watching the waves hit the breakers in the lake or watching people on Michigan Ave). The NoMi spa was the highlight of the stay. The staff was extremely accommodating and service oriented. We had a couples massage and both felt so relaxed afterwards that you could have scooped us off the table and wheeled us back to the room. We want to come back when the weather is nicer so we can experience the rooftop bar.

Worst Park Hyatt Experience: Poor Service, Billing Errors, and Wasted Time

Hyatt Globalist, booked a three-night stay through Amex FHR. On the second day of my stay, I was awakened by a phone call to my room, claiming that I was listed as a no-show in their system, despite the fact that I was clearly sleeping in one of their rooms. The staff member then asked for my credit card and processed the booking again. Upon checkout, I discovered that the bill was incorrect, as the Amex credit had not been applied properly. The front desk initially denied any error and insisted that the bill was accurate. It was only after I challenged them and requested an itemized bill that they realized their mistake. This was particularly frustrating as my taxi was waiting outside. To add insult to injury, they even managed to mix up the titles "Ms." and "Mr." on my bill. Unfortunately, the issues didn't end there. After returning home, I noticed that while the charges on the bill were correct, the qualifying nights and points were still inaccurate. I spent an hour on the phone trying to rectify this situation but eventually gave up, as it was a waste of my valuable time. This experience was extremely disappointing and caused me significant inconvenience. I acknowledge that the staff were mostly friendly, but I still strongly recommend that the management takes the following suggestions to improve their service and meet the standards expected of a 5-star hotel: 1. Ensure that your staff is properly trained to handle bookings made through the American Express FHR channel. 2. Refrain from calling their rooms if the "Do Not Disturb" sign is on, as this likely means they are resting. 3. When you need to collect a guest's credit card to reprocess anything, inform them that you will be charging a deposit to avoid any surprises. 4. When a guest questions their bill, take the time to review it carefully before insisting that it is correct. 5. Pay attention to your guests' titles and ensure that their gender is correctly reflected on the bill. I submitted feedback regarding this experience but have not received any apology from the hotel. I stayed at several Park Hyatt hotels and this one was the most disappointing experience.

We returned to the Park Hyatt Chicago after a renovation to enjoy one of their brand new suites. Between the location directly off the nicest part of the Magnificent Mile (with the shops and restaurants of Rush street in your backyard), our entire family (including young kids) were catered to from start to finish. The staff are remarkable... any request whether it be for an extra toothbrush or additional towels were delivered in seconds. The food (and sushi) are epic and of the many hotels in Chicago I've visited for work in the past, there is not a better hotel in Chicago. This is also one of the nicest Park Hyatt's anywhere and could rival any five star anywhere in the world. The pool and hot tub are great on any cool rainy day and with Nomi Kitchen and Lounge in the hotel, we didn't have to leave the hotel on one of the days we were there (nor did we want to). We had a minor issue with the automated blinds in our suite. You would think the entire hotel staff was working on the problem with the way we were assisted between engineers and a front office manager who visited our suite directly to apologize for the inconvenience that was corrected. We adore this hotel and could not recommend it enough. You likely won't want to leave or explore the city after you check-in. The fixtures and comforts are beyond perfect!
